Thaleia Melliou

Thaleia Melliou has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Thaleia is currently the Head of Business Case Development for BECCS at Drax Group, a role they have held since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Mergers and Acquisitions Manager for Drax Corporate, M&A from November 2019 to February 2023. Thaleia also has experience as a Project Development Manager for Progress Power Ltd (part of Drax Group), a Business Development Manager for Drax Power Ltd, and a Business Developer for Drax Power Ltd, all within the Business Development and M&A department of Drax Group.

Before joining Drax Group, they worked for Gazprom Marketing and Trading Ltd. as a Business Development and M&A Manager for the London Central & South East European Desk from January 2011 to March 2014. Prior to that, they served as a Gas Originator at Gazprom Marketing and Trading, London, focusing on gas sales and trading activities in Northwestern and Central Europe.

Thaleia's early career includes positions at Constellation Energy Commodities Group as a Gas & Power Originator, where they were involved in negotiation and valuation activities for gas-fired power plants and gas supply contracts in continental Europe, and at The Brattle Group as a Research Analyst, where they conducted quantitative analysis and built models for energy and finance projects.

Thaleia Melliou completed their Bachelor of Science degree in International and European Economic Theory at Athens University of Economics and Business from 1999 to 2003. In 2004, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Economics at the University of Warwick, which was completed in 2005. Additionally, Thaleia also briefly studied at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) in 2002, but no degree or field of study information is available for this period.
