Ellen Tedeschi

Research Scientist at DreamBox Learning

Ellen Tedeschi has a diverse work experience in the field of research and education. Ellen is currently a Research Scientist at DreamBox Learning since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Columbia University in the City of New York from 2012 to 2020, holding various roles. As a Graduate Research Fellow at the Learning Lab, they designed and led multiple quantitative research projects related to curiosity, learning, and decision making. Ellen conducted statistical analysis and created scripts in R to automate data cleaning, analysis, and visualization. Ellen also worked as a Teaching Assistant, facilitating undergraduate courses and leading laboratory sections. Additionally, they served as a Lab Manager in the Fear, Anxiety and Biosocial Behavioral Lab, conducting studies on fear and anxiety using fMRI, psychophysiology, and behavioral methods. Ellen was responsible for lab administration, including IRB submissions and grant proposals. Before their time at Columbia University, Ellen worked at Northwestern University as a Lab Manager and Research Assistant. In these roles, they conducted ERP and fMRI studies on reward-related brain function in mood disorders and collected and analyzed data for developmental studies on spatial learning and communication. Ellen also transcribed, coded, and analyzed data from video recordings and created a database system for integrating multiple forms of data.

Ellen Tedeschi has a strong educational background in the field of Psychology. Ellen completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology at Northwestern University from 2008 to 2012. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at Columbia University. From 2015 to 2017, they obtained a Master's degree in Psychology. Ellen continued their studies at Columbia and achieved a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Psychology from 2015 to 2019. Lastly, Ellen Tedeschi completed their education journey at Columbia University by achieving a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Psychology from 2015 to 2020.
