Wes Suggs

Wes Suggs has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. In 2012, they worked as a Legislative Aide for the Office of Prince Georges County Councilman Obie Patterson, where they assisted with organizing events and fundraisers, conducted informational correspondence, and utilized social media for communication and problem-solving.

In 2016, Wes worked as a Communications and Governmental Affairs Analyst for IMPACT Strategies, a Political Advocacy Firm. Wes'sresponsibilities included assembling and briefing memos, formulating branding strategies, and drafting newsletters for clients and prospective clients.

Wes also served as a Leadership for Educational Equity Policy & Advocacy Fellow at the Council for Court Excellence in 2018. During this time, they drafted legislation, developed guidance for DC public school employees, and facilitated organizational meetings for a reentry coalition.

In 2017, Wes joined Teach For America as a Corps Member and worked until 2019. Wes then returned to Teach For America in 2021 as a Development Ambassador from October to March 2022.

From 2017 to 2021, Wes worked at IDEA Public Schools, starting as an AP Humanities Teacher and later becoming a Grade Team Leader and Assistant Principal of Instruction. Wes'saccomplishments include developing formative assessments, designing engaging instruction, and achieving recognition for the grade level team of the year.

Most recently, Wes joined DreamBox Learning in June 2022 as a Strategic Account Manager. DreamBox Learning is an Intelligent Adaptive Learning company that provides curriculum and adaptive instruction for K-12 students in math and reading.
