Alastair Simpson

VP, Design at Dropbox

Alastair Simpson is currently the VP of Design at Dropbox. Prior to joining Dropbox, Alastair served as the Head of Design at Atlassian, where they helped scale the design team from 20 to over 300 in 6 years. Alastair also held various design leadership roles across; Trello, Jira, Confluence, Stripe/HipChat (Sadly shuttered), Ecosystem, Growth, Design Systems and built the Platform group from the ground up. Before Atlassian, Alastair was the Head of User Experience at Neon Stingray (now Valtech) where they did experience design consulting for Qantas, Foxtel, Hoyts, Telstra, Bonnier Media, and Commonwealth Bank. From October 2011 to March 2012 Alastair worked as a Senior User Experience Consultant before taking a career break to travel through Central and South America. Upon returning from their travels, Alastair worked as the User Experience Manager at (Catch) Reed Business Information from September 2004 to August 2010.

Alastair Simpson completed a BSc (Hons) in Business Studies with Sports Sciences at Brunel University London. Prior to that, they completed A Levels in Alastair'story, English, Sports Studies at Brockenhurst College. Alastair also attended Highcliffe Comprehensive School.

Alastair Simpson reports to Timothy Young, President. Jeff Kreutz - Head of Product & Design, Daniella Mogannam - Executive Business Partner to VP, Design report to Alastair Simpson.
