Scott Shepard has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Geography from the University of Vermont, which they obtained between 1993 and 1997. Scott then went on to receive a Master of City Planning (M.C.P.) from San Diego State University, which they obtained between 2003 and 2006 with a specialization in Urban Design. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute in 2014, an AICP Certified Planner from the American Planning Association in 2010, and a LEED Accredited Professional from Green Business Certification, Inc. in 2008.
