Saundrah H. has a diverse educational background. In 1988, they attended Mt. Hood Community College, where they studied music. Saundrah later transferred to Portland State University in 1991 and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and German. Following that, in 1996 they enrolled at the University of Washington and completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology in 1997.
