Søren Knudsen

Søren Knudsen has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Søren began their career in 1994 as a Car Mechanic at Nyborg Bilcenter A/S. After gaining experience in the automotive industry, they transitioned to the maritime sector, starting as a Junior Marine Engineer at J. Poulsen Shipping in 2003. Søren worked onboard various vessels, gaining skills in control room operations, watchkeeping, and engine maintenance. In 2004, they joined Nordic Offshore Services A/S as a Marine Engineer, where they continued to develop their engineering and maintenance skills.

In 2005, Søren Knudsen joined Maersk Drilling as a Special Driller Trainee, receiving training in various positions onboard drilling rigs and technical aspects of drilling and production. Søren then moved on to Axel Pedersen El ApS in 2007, working as a Certified Electrician-Electrician. Søren'sresponsibilities included electrical installations, faultfinding, and testing and inspection of electrical systems.

From 2011 to 2017, Knudsen worked at Maersk Supply Service as a Marine Engineer, where they held positions such as First Engineer and Second Engineer. Søren'sduties included personnel management, watchkeeping, control room work, and planned maintenance operations.

In 2017, Knudsen transitioned to Maersk Tankers, where they initially served as a Technical Superintendent and later as a Senior Technical Superintendent. In these roles, they managed all technical matters, prioritized safety, and ensured compliance with regulations. Søren also oversaw financial budgets, cost control, and communication with the vessel management team. Additionally, Knudsen led and developed the assigned Senior Officers.

Most recently, in 2022, they joined A.P. Moller - Maersk as a Fleet Superintendent, where they were responsible for overseeing the fleet, managing maintenance, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Currently, Søren Knudsen holds the position of Technical Manager at DS NORDEN, starting in 2023. Further details about their responsibilities in this role are not provided.

Søren Knudsen has a diverse education history in various fields of study. In 1994, they attended Syddansk Erhvervsskole and completed a degree as a Skilled Craftsman, specializing in car mechanics. From 1999 to 2002, Søren studied at Svendborg Maskinmesterskole SIMAC, acquiring a Marine Engineer degree with a focus on mechanical and electrical engineering.

In 2007, Søren attended Svendborg Erhvervsskole, where they earned a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering as an Electrician. In the same year, they also received certification as a Certified Electrician from Sikkerhedsstyrelsen.

In 2012, Søren pursued further education at North West Kent College - Lloyds Maritime Academy, where they completed a diploma in Ship Superintendency.

In July 2020, Søren obtained a Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer Officer from the Government of Denmark, adding to their qualifications in the maritime industry.
