Benjamin Szilagyi has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and data science industries. Benjamin currently holds the position of Vice President Data Science at dsm-firmenich, where they have been working since 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President Biodata & Translational Sciences at the same company from 2022 to 2023.
Before joining dsm-firmenich, Benjamin worked at Roche for a significant period. Benjamin held various leadership roles, including Vice President, Insights Data & Experimental Analytics from 2020 to 2022, Global Head Medical Data & Information Solutions from 2017 to 2020, Global Head Biometrics Strategic Operations from 2014 to 2020, and Global Head Clinical Data & Information Sciences pRED from 2011 to 2014. Benjamin also served as the Global Head of ED Statistical Programmers from 2010 to 2011 and as the Local Site Head Basel Programming ED from 2008 to 2010.
In addition to their roles at Roche, Benjamin also served as the Conference Chair for the PhUSE organization in 2009.
Prior to their tenure at Roche, Benjamin worked at Novartis as a Principal Statistical Programmer from 2004 to 2008. Benjamin managed statistical programming activities on project level and led a team of up to 15 programmers.
Early in their career, Benjamin held the position of Senior Data Analyst at BIOMIT AG in 2004 and worked as a Statistical Programmer at BIOP AG Basel from 1998 to 2003.

Benjamin Szilagyi completed their education with a Matura degree from MNG Basel in 1992. Benjamin then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Basel, which they completed in 1999. In 2014, they obtained a PED Diploma in Professional Executive Development from IMD.
