Peter Dietrich

SVP & Chief Nuclear Officer at DTE Energy

Peter Dietrich is the current Senior Vice President & Chief Nuclear Officer at DTE Energy. Peter has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on nuclear power.

Dietrich started their career at Southern California Edison (SCE), where they worked for over 6 years, eventually becoming the Sr Vice President, Transmission and Distribution. In 2010, they left SCE to become the Chief Nuclear Officer at Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC).

At ENEC, Dietrich was responsible for the development and operation of the UAE’s first nuclear power plant. Peter oversaw the construction of four nuclear reactors and was responsible for safety, security, and quality assurance. In 2018, they left ENEC to become the Chief Nuclear Officer at Nawah Energy Company.

In 2019, Dietrich returned to ENEC as an Executive Consultant. Peter also founded PTD Consulting LLC, a consultancy firm that provides advice to energy companies on nuclear operations and strategy.

Peter Dietrich received their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Tulane University in the Executive MBA field. Prior to that, they received their Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture from the United States Naval Academy. Peter is also certified from the State of Arkansas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as a Professional Engineer.
