Michael Hanson

Michael Hanson serves as the Tax Director at Dubai Investments PJSC since March 2023, leading the Group Tax function. Prior to this role, Michael held various positions at Careem, including Group Director/Head of Tax and Group Tax Manager from May 2018 to February 2023. Michael's experience also includes serving as Manager - Tax at The Abraaj Group, where responsibilities involved supporting global tax functions and investment-related matters from September 2015 to April 2018. Earlier roles included Tax Associate at Aspen Pharmacare, responsible for corporate income tax compliance in the EMENAC region, and Assistant Vice President - Tax at Citi, focusing on a portfolio of UK companies. Michael began a career at BDO LLP in corporate international tax services, risk management, and audit from September 2006 to August 2011. Education includes an ACA from ICAEW and a CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance currently pursued at The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
