Sarah McCay Tams has a diverse range of work experience, starting in 2002 with their role as Editor at MEMS Newswire, where they were responsible for three publications in the hospitality and travel industry. Sarah then worked as a Marketing Communications and PR Manager at JW Marriott Dubai, overseeing PR and marketing activities for multiple Marriott properties. Following this, Sarah held roles as Senior Editor at ITP Business - Hospitality Group, overseeing editorial quality for B2B magazines and launching the Hotelier Middle East Awards. Sarah later became Editor in Chief at TTG Middle East & North Africa, managing editorial production and a team of five. Sarah also worked as a Senior Editor at Nicholas Publishing International, a freelance PR Director at Blazon Communications with various high-profile clients, and as an Editor at Finance Monthly. From 2010 to 2017, they worked as a Freelance journalist and copywriter, contributing to various publications and industry reports. Most recently, Sarah served as the Director of Marketing Communications at Duetto, a leading Revenue Strategy Platform in the hospitality industry, where they led marketing communications activities and positioned Duetto as an industry leader. In between their various roles, Sarah had a position as Senior Content & PR Manager at ClickThrough Marketing, where they managed the content team and delivered content for clients and the agency's own marketing materials.

Sarah McCay Tams completed their Bachelor of Arts with Honors degree in English at Goldsmiths, University of London from 1995 to 1998. Sarah then pursued a Master's degree in Creative Writing at the University of Birmingham, which they completed from 2022 to 2024.
