Akhilesh Shivaramakrishnan

Akhilesh Shivaramakrishnan is a dedicated Field Researcher at Duke Global Health Institute, actively involved in a research study focused on the mental health and coping strategies of adolescent secondary school students in Peru, with fieldwork planned for summer 2024. As Executive Vice President of Duke Student Government, Akhilesh plays a significant leadership role, previously serving as Outreach Coordinator and Associate Vice President of Durham & Community Affairs. Experience also includes conducting mental health research for orphans in New Delhi, interning at the Duke-Margolis Institute for Health Policy researching Medicaid provisions for adults with disabilities, and leading initiatives for AAPI students at Duke. Akhilesh's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Global Health and Public Policy from Duke University, complemented by a Spanish minor and engagement in cultural and community outreach activities.
