Preston Nibley

Associate Vice President at Duke Student Government

Preston Nibley has a diverse range of work experience. Starting in 2020, they worked as a Project Assistant and later became the Head COVID Monitor at Seabreeze Management Company, Inc. In 2021, they joined the National Speech & Debate Association as a Liaison to The New York Times. In the same year, they also worked as a Synthetic Chemistry Researcher for the Franz Lab at Duke University's Department of Chemistry, where they were also a Dean's Summer Research Fellow.

In 2022, Nibley became an Editorial Board Member for the Duke Chronicle and took on multiple roles at Duke University. These roles included being a Senator for Academic Affairs in the Duke Student Government and working as a Molecular Biology Researcher for the Shenoy Lab in Duke University School of Medicine.

Nibley continued to gain experience in the medical field, becoming a Clinical Operations Extern at AbbVie in 2022. In 2023, they interned at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) in the Division of Preclinical Innovation.

Preston Nibley completed their high school education from Miramonte High School from 2017 to 2021, earning a high school diploma. Preston then pursued higher education at Duke University from 2021 to 2025, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry, Biology, and Economics. In addition to their academic achievements, Preston also obtained certifications during their educational journey. In September 2022, they completed the Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certification from Bloomberg LP. In November 2021, they achieved the ACTFL Spanish Speaking Proficiency - Advanced certification from Language Testing International.
