Ihsan Taylor is a seasoned editorial professional with extensive experience in the publishing and journalism sectors. Currently serving as a Project Editor at Duke University Press since September 2021, Ihsan previously worked at Longleaf Services from September 2016 to August 2021 as an Editorial, Design, and Production Associate. Prior to that, Ihsan spent nearly eight years at The New York Times, holding roles as Staff Editor and Columnist for the Sunday Book Review, where responsibilities included editing and proofreading essays and reviews, as well as crafting headlines and summaries. Earlier experience includes positions as Staff Editor for the Sports Desk and Intermediate Staff Editor across various news desks. Ihsan began the career as Assistant Commentary Editor and Reporter/Researcher at Education Week - EPE, focusing on op-ed submissions and contributing articles on public education. A graduate of Swarthmore College, Ihsan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature with a concentration in African-American studies.
