Melinda Zuech

Melinda Zuech serves as the Director of Legal at Duolingo, providing strategic guidance on new products and features while navigating domestic and international laws related to marketing, data privacy, consumer protection, and intellectual property since September 2021. Prior to this role, Melinda worked at Facebook as Senior IP and Marketing Counsel, focusing on marketing for AR/VR products and regulatory matters. Melinda also held senior legal positions at eBay, VMWare, Apple, Autodesk, Adobe, and Yahoo!, where responsibilities included managing product and advertising legal matters and ensuring compliance with FTC regulations. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of Legal at Yahoo! and Corporate Counsel at DirecTV Broadband, as well as working as an Associate Attorney at Gordon & Rees LLP. Melinda Zuech holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UC San Diego and a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law.
