Xingyu W.

Xingyu W. has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. They started their career as a Research Assistant and Intern at Choson Exchange, where they researched and provided information on North Korean economic status and compiled functions of Special Economic Zones. They then worked as a Software Engineer Intern at UChicago Medicine, where they developed the backend of a cardiovascular disease genetics data platform and expanded the existing database. Xingyu W. also worked at the University of Chicago, first as an Undergraduate Student Researcher, conducting independent research in number theory and presenting on the Hasse-Minkowski Theorem. They later took on roles as an Organizer and Mentor in an online program and as an Independent Study Projects participant. Currently, Xingyu W. works at Duolingo as a Software Engineer, having started as a Software Engineer and recently promoted to Software Engineer II.

Xingyu W. completed a Master's degree in Physical Sciences at the University of Chicago from 2020 to 2021. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the same university, which spanned from 2016 to 2020. In addition to their academic achievements, Xingyu W. also obtained several certifications from LinkedIn, including Algorithmic Trading and Stocks Essential Training, Understanding Capital Markets, Building RESTful APIs with Flask, and Learning REST APIs. The certifications were obtained in 2020, with Algorithmic Trading and Stocks Essential Training and Understanding Capital Markets acquired in November, and Building RESTful APIs with Flask and Learning REST APIs acquired in September.
