Gladys Fátima Márquez currently serves as an NEA Executive Committee Officer with the National Education Association of the United States since September 2021 and has been a Board Member for the Illinois Education Association since March 2016. Additionally, Márquez has been a member of the NEA Board of Directors for Illinois and Chair of the Hispanic Caucus since July 2014. With a longstanding career in education, Márquez has been a High School English Teacher at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School since May 2003 and previously taught as an Elementary School Teacher at Cook County School District 130 from August 2000 to June 2003. Academic achievements include a Doctor of Education in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies from Governors State University and multiple degrees in education, including a Master of Education specializing in Bilingual and Multilingual Education.
