Antonio Varela

Antonio Varela is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience across various sectors, currently serving as a Lead Software Engineer at IBM since April 2023, focusing on Network Traffic Steering within the Software Defined Networking Group. As a co-founder and Director at ICON Software Systems, Antonio has led projects providing software solutions for manufacturing, construction, government, and service industries, including the design of a PAC for Mexican Electronic Invoices. Prior to IBM, Antonio held roles at NS1 as a Senior Software Engineer II, contributing to critical DNS technologies and traffic steering innovations, and as a Software Engineer at ACME Technologies and Nearsoft. Additionally, Antonio has considerable academic experience, having lectured on software development and related subjects at TEC de Monterrey for over two decades. Antonio holds a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
