Head Of Visitor Attraction at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water

Vicky Martin has extensive experience in the tourism and visitor attraction industry. Vicky is currently the Head of Visitor Attraction at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, where they oversee the strategic development and management of visitor attractions. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Visitor Attraction Strategy at the same company.

Before joining Welsh Water, Vicky worked as the Waterways Manager at the Canal and River Trust. Vicky also served as the General Manager of the ArcelorMittal Orbit at Cofely-GDF Suez.

Vicky has a strong background in the heritage sector as well. Vicky was the CEO of Heartlands Trust, where they launched a £35 million World Heritage gateway attraction and set up a social enterprise to manage the business. Vicky also worked as a Director at the Wentworth Castle and Stainborough Park Heritage Trust, overseeing the restoration of a Grade 2* conservatory and the creation of an education facility.

Additionally, Vicky has experience working in the public sector. Vicky served as the General Manager of Wollaton under Nottingham City Council, managing two museums, an art gallery, and a deer park. Vicky also worked as the Travel and Tourism Programme Manager at Northampton Business School, where they were responsible for program design and external industry liaison.

Earlier in their career, Vicky held positions such as Commercial Manager at Planning Solutions Ltd, Commercial and Marketing Manager at Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway, and Resort Services Co-ordinator at Suffolk Coastal District Council. Vicky also contributed to the validation of tourism and heritage management programs while teaching at Northampton Business School.

Vicky Martin obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in French Studies from the University of Nottingham between 1990 and 1994. Vicky then pursued further education and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism Management from Sheffield Hallam University, studying from 1997 to 2000.
