Brendan Griffen

Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder at Dynomics

Brendan Griffen has held a variety of positions in the technology sector over the past 16 years. In 2020, they became the Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder of Dynomics. From 2016-2020, they were the Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder of Scaled Biolabs Inc., where they worked at the frontier of microfluidics, automation, and machine learning, providing full-stack integration of hardware, wetware and software for high-throughput, high-detail biology. From 2012-2016, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they trained as an astrophysicist. From 2006-2012, they were a Research Scholar at the University of Queensland and the Australian National University, where they used astronomical image data to characterize the profiles of low surface brightness galaxies and examined the tidal stripping of compact dwarf galaxies. In 2005, they were a Research Scholar at Swinburne University of Technology, where they used large scale computational resources to build predictive models. Brendan was also a University Tutor at the University of Queensland from 2004-2006.

Brendan Griffen completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics, Mathematics & Cognitive Science from The University of Queensland in 2003-2006. Brendan then completed a Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc. Honours) in Physics from The University of Queensland in 2007. Following this, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Astronomy and Astrophysics from The University of Queensland in 2008-2012. Finally, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Astrophysics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2012-2016.
