Tyler Schon

Dr. Tyler Schon is a PhD materials scientist and technical leader with over 10 years of experience in research and development, specializing in battery chemistry. Prior to joining e-Zinc, Tyler co-founded Pliant Power while still completing his PhD to commercialize lightweight lithium-ion battery materials. As CEO, Tyler led the team in technical and business development, materials synthesis and scale up efforts, and intellectual property management. Tyler holds a BSc in Chemistry from Western University (with Honors) and a PhD in Polymer and Materials Chemistry from the University of Toronto. Tyler has filed 3 patent applications (1 granted) and has published 19 peer-reviewed research papers.
