Artem Khlebnikov

Artem Khlebnikov has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Artem currently holds the position of Director Bioeconomy, Health & Nutrition at Eagle Genomics, a role they began in 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Advisor, Jury Member, and Mentor at EIT Food, Europe's leading food innovation initiative, starting in 2015. Khlebnikov also served as the Director Strategic Partnerships, Investments & Prospective at Danone Nutricia Research from 2015 until 2022, where they were responsible for identifying investment and partnering opportunities in scientific and business fields. Before joining Danone Nutricia Research, they held the position of Director New Projects & Head of Technology Operations at BIOASTER, a Technology Research Institute in Microbiology founded by the French Government. From 2012 to 2015, they oversaw the development of technology platforms and fostered collaborations with various institutions and enterprises. Khlebnikov's career began in 2001 as a scientist in the Research and Process Development departments of MedImmune and Innogenetics respectively. Artem also served as a Research Director at Danone Nutricia Research from 2005 to 2009, and as a Senior Scientific Director at The Dannon Company from 2009 to 2012, where they established an external research network focused on microbiome and nutrition.

Artem Khlebnikov has a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology from Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, which they obtained from 1987 to 1993. Artem then pursued a PhD in Biotechnology at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 1993 to 1997, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biotechnology from the same institution from 1994 to 1998. Artem then went on to earn a Postgraduate Degree in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley from 1998 to 2000, and also completed a Post Doc in Molecular Biology/Genetic Engineering at the same university during the same timeframe.
