Blaine McCarthy has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific field since 2012. In 2012, they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher in Chemical Synthesis and Chemical Biology at Clark University. In 2015, they became a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, Ph.D. in Chemistry (Materials) at the University of Colorado Boulder. From 2017 to 2020, they held the same position at Colorado State University, where they developed strongly reducing, organic photoredox catalysts for small molecule and polymer synthesis. In 2020, they became a Cancer-Translational Nanotechnology Training Fellow at Stanford University, where they researched new classes of degradable polymers for gene delivery. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist, Delivery Bioengineer at Earli Inc.
Blaine McCarthy is currently a Cancer-Translational Nanotechnology Training Fellow at Stanford University. Blaine previously obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry and Materials from Colorado State University in 2020, and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with a Minor in Biology from Clark University in 2015.
