Nicole Cortese MS, RD has extensive experience in the field of food safety, quality control, and nutrition. Nicole Cortese currently holds the position of Head of Product Development Food/Treats at Earth Animal Ventures since June 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Blue Buffalo Co where they held various roles including Food Safety and Quality Manager from June 2018 to June 2019, Quality Ingredient Manager from July 2017 to June 2019, and Corporate Quality Control and Assurance Supervisor from September 2014 to June 2017. Nicole Cortese also has experience working at the USDA as a Coordinated Agricultural Project Intern from January 2014 to June 2014, where they conducted research on thermal destruction of bacteria and presented their findings at a national conference. Earlier in their career, Nicole worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital as a Clinical Dietitian/Nutritionist from October 2008 to October 2013, where they provided nutrition guidance to patients and their families and developed feeding plans for critical care patients.
Nicole Cortese earned a Master's Degree in Food Science from Drexel University from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed a Dietetic Internship at Marywood University from 2007 to 2008. Nicole Cortese obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition Services from West Chester University of Pennsylvania from 2003 to 2007. Nicole also holds additional certifications such as HACCP Certified, PCQI Certified, Registered Dietitian, and SQF Certified, although the institutions and exact dates of these certifications are not provided.
