Melissa Fowlks

Melissa Fowlks has extensive experience in education and environmental science, currently serving as a Naturalist at East Bay Regional Park District since January 2020. Prior to this role, Fowlks held positions including Co Director of the Teen Leadership Program at Vida Verde Nature Education, Zoo Educator at Oakland Zoo, and Special Education Specialist at New Haven Unified School District. Additional experience includes working as a High School Teacher and Mental Health Counselor at Seneca Family of Agencies, and Naturalist and Instructor roles at various educational organizations. Fowlks earned a Master of Education in Special Education and Teaching from Saint Mary's College of California, a Bachelor of Arts in Physical and Biological Anthropology from California State University - East Bay, and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Ohlone College.
