Heidi Emerson manages strategic planning and the day-to-day operations of the Quality and Population Health Department. She has more than 14 years of experience working with FQHCs, and her work has spanned health services research, health policy, and planning. Before joining EBNHC, she worked for Health Management Associates, a national healthcare research and consulting firm. In this role, she assisted healthcare organizations and state agencies with projects related to delivery system and payment reform, accountable care, and the healthcare workforce. Heidi also served as Deputy Director of State Affairs at the National Association of Community Health Centers in Washington, DC, and Director of Planning at Charles B. Wang Community Health Center in New York City. She has co-authored articles on access to and quality of care for underserved and vulnerable populations, focusing on health insurance coverage and health care disparities.
Heidi holds a BS from Stanford University, a MPH from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy and Management, and a PhD from New York University Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences.
