Doug Field

Doug Field OBE has a diverse and extensive work experience. Doug is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the East of England Co-operative Society Ltd, a position they have held since 2022. In this role, they oversee a society that has been thriving for over 150 years and boasts a remarkable presence with over 200 trading outlets across 70 towns and villages in Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex.

Prior to their current role, Doug served as a Director at Give and Take Care from 2016 to 2019. Doug was also a Trustee at Community Action Suffolk from 2013 to 2014. In 2008, they worked as the Financial Controller at East of England Co-operative Society.

Before joining the East of England Co-operative Society, Doug gained valuable experience at Christie Group plc as the Group Financial Controller from 2004 to 2008. Doug managed the finance function for the Group, including recruitment and employee development. Doug was also responsible for preparing Group financial statements, including the transition to International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS).

Doug started their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they worked as a Senior Manager from 1998 to 2004. Doug began their professional journey as an Accounts Assistant at Hazlewoods in 1994.

Doug Field OBE attended Hessle High School from 1982 to 1990. Doug then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Accountancy and Finance from Bangor University, which they completed from 1990 to 1993.
