Ben Vallely

Ben Vallely BEng(Hons), MSc, IEng, MIMechE is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in system safety and project engineering within the rail industry. Currently serving as Chair of Council and Deputy Chair of Council at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and holding key positions at East West Railway Company and EDC Rail Project Consulting Limited, Ben has a proven track record in safety management, engineering leadership, and stakeholder engagement. With expertise stemming from roles at Crossrail Ltd and Network Rail, Ben has significantly contributed to major projects, including the Elizabeth line. In addition, Ben founded Young Rail Tours to foster global connections in the rail sector and has demonstrated a commitment to professional development in various capacities within young rail professional organizations. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Engineering in Motorsport Engineering from Brunel University of London.
