Director Of Special Education at Eastern York School District

Caitlin Gump has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of special education. Caitlin started their career in 2012 as a Long Term Substitute Learning Support Teacher at Crestwood School District. Caitlin then worked as a Learning Support Teacher at Susquehanna Township School District from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 to 2019, Caitlin held the roles of Elementary Learning Support Teacher and Elementary Special Education Department Chair at SOUTH MIDDLETON SCHOOL DISTRICT. Caitlin then served as an Assistant Director of Special Education at East Pennsboro School District from 2019 to 2020. Currently, Caitlin is the Director of Special Education at Eastern York School District, a position they have held since 2020. Additionally, they will be joining Messiah University as an Adjunct Faculty-Field Experiences & Student Teacher Supervisor starting in 2022.

Caitlin Gump attended Kutztown University of Pennsylvania from 2007 to 2011, where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary/Special Education. Caitlin then pursued further education at Penn State Harrisburg from 2016 to 2018, obtaining a Master of Education degree in Teaching & Curriculum along with a Principal Certificate. In addition to their degrees, Caitlin has obtained several certifications from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, including Principal K-12, Elementary Education K-6, and Special Education N-12. The Principal K-12 certification was obtained in February 2019, while the Elementary Education K-6 and Special Education N-12 certifications were both obtained in June 2011.
