Joy McGowan has extensive experience in the field of assistive technology and augmentative communication, serving as the Director of Assistive Technology and Augmentative Communication at Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania since January 1983. Additionally, Joy McGowan held the position of Adjunct Professor at Temple University's Department of Communication Science and Disorders from September 2008 to September 2016, where instruction focused on a graduate course in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Joy McGowan's educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Emerson College.
