Kanchana Wangkeo Leung

Kanchana Wangkeo Leung has extensive work experience in various legal roles. Currently, they serve as the General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at EasyKnock since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Independent Neutral Arbitrator at FINRA starting from October 2020.

From December 2020 to February 2022, Kanchana was the Deputy General Counsel at Better, where they provided legal advice and managed legal operations for four operating companies within the home ownership enterprise. Kanchana worked closely with the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer to ensure compliance with laws and regulations in the mortgage, real estate, title, and insurance industries.

Earlier in their career, from 2016 to 2020, they held multiple roles at Gilead Capital LP, including Chief Legal Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. Kanchana'sresponsibilities involved managing legal and regulatory risks, collaborating with the investment team, and providing legal advice and support.

Before Gilead Capital LP, Kanchana was a Partner at Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP from 2006 to 2016. Kanchana specialized in financial services litigation, particularly advocating for buy-side plaintiffs. Kanchana represented asset managers, institutional investors, and high net worth individuals in securities law violations and breach of contract cases related to investments in structured financial products.

Kanchana'searlier experience includes working as an Antitrust Associate at Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC in 2005 and serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for Honorable Shira A Scheindlin at the S.D.N.Y. in 2004.

Kanchana started their legal career as a Litigation Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP from 2002 to 2004.

Kanchana Wangkeo Leung began their education at Duke University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from 1994 to 1998. Following this, they pursued an independent study program as a Fulbright Scholar in Political Science and Government in 1998-1999. Afterwards, they attended Yale Law School from 1999 to 2002, where they earned a Juris Doctor degree.
