Jennifer Curtis has over 20 years of work experience. Jennifer began their career in 1997 as a Teacher at Atlantis Charter School in Fall River, MA, where they developed and implemented hands-on instructional materials and interdisciplinary lesson plans in the subject areas of math, science, marine science, language arts and social science for grades 5 through 7. Jennifer also supervised and evaluated students majoring in Elementary Education from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and Bridgewater College, MA. In 2001, they moved to Shoultes Elementary School in Marysville, WA, where they worked on the district writing committee creating and editing various writing components for district-wide curriculum, and developed and implemented a hands-on, inquiry-based science program for students in grades K through 5. Jennifer received a highly competitive grant through the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Teachers Experiencing Antarctica and the Arctic (TEA). In 2007, they became an Editor at Hungry Girl, Inc., where they edited, proofread, and researched data for Hungry Girl’s daily email newsletter subscription service (over 1 million subscribers), Hungry Girl articles featured on WeightWatchers.com, and copy for advertisements on hungry-girl.com. From 2013-2017, they were a Realtor at Howard Hanna, Keller Williams, and Long and Foster. From 2017-2018, they were an Instructional Designer at Organization Management Group Inc., where they wrote, designed and updated classroom and online courses for clients of OMG including the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM) and Alpha College of Real Estate. Jennifer created highly interactive and engaging lessons for classroom and online courses that catered to adult learners’ specific needs and learning styles. Jennifer also utilized the various components of e-learning and the learning management system. In 2021, they became the Director of eLearning Development at EasyLlama - Work Harassment and Diversity Training.
Jennifer Curtis has obtained two Master's degrees from Cambridge College in School Counseling and School Administration, as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Elementary Education and Teaching from St. John's University.
