Mahmut Akcin

Mahmut Akcin currently serves as an IT Security Officer at the European Bioinformatics Institute since April 2019. Prior to this role, Mahmut held the position of Information Security Leader at Roketsan Missiles Inc., where responsibilities included risk identification and mitigation for a NATO-Secret level defense company. Mahmut's experience also includes serving as a Security Operations Senior Specialist at Vodafone, where significant achievements involved leading security operations to protect a network serving 25 million customers. Earlier roles at Vodafone included Network Operation Engineer and Internship positions, along with internships at Turkcell, AVEA, and TUBITAK. Mahmut Akcin holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University, a certificate from LUT University's International Summer School on Telecommunications, and a Master's degree in Political Science and Government from Hacettepe University.
