Lisa Overmars has worked in various roles in the sustainability and food technology sectors since 2011. Lisa began their career as a pharmacy employee at Alphega Apotheek Wijhe in 2011. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a student assistant, teacher, and PhD student at Wageningen University & Research. During their time at Wageningen, Lisa developed digital learning material and case studies for multiple BSc and MSc food technology courses, and worked on a project focussed on the sustainability analysis of meat analogue production. In 2018, Lisa joined Ecochain Technologies as an Operations Team Lead and Environmental Specialist, where they managed sustainability projects through footprint calculations with Ecochain's SaaS solutions "Mobius" and "Helix". Additionally, Lisa completed a graduate internship at Phytonext b.v. in 2016, where they determined if Phytonext's extraction technology is suitable for the extraction of valuable compounds from microalgae.

Lisa Overmars' education history includes a VWO degree from Carmel College Salland (2005-2011), followed by a BSc in Food Technology from Wageningen University & Research (2011-2014), and an MSc in Food Technology with a specialisation in sustainable food process engineering from Wageningen University & Research (2014-2016).
