Alyssa Hernandez is currently a Data Analyst at Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath). Alyssa previously worked as the Founder & Executive Director of No Hunger NOLA from December 2018 to April 2021. In this role, Alyssa was responsible for the origination and maintenance of all community partnerships, advocacy efforts, outreach and media projects, volunteer coordination, accounting duties, logistics, and production. Alyssa also swift organized and executed a community feeding program following COVID-19 shutdowns in New Orleans, gathering a team of volunteer chefs, capturing and upcycling recovered restaurant surplus, and providing more than 1,200 meals and 4 weeks’ worth of groceries to local community members. Prior to their work with No Hunger NOLA, Alyssa interned with the New Leaders Council from August 2017 to January 2018.
Alyssa Hernandez studied policy economics at Tulane University School of Liberal Arts, where they earned their Master of Arts degree. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies in economics at the University of South Florida College of Arts and Sciences, earning their Bachelor of Arts degree.
