Ashleigh Kanat

Ashleigh Kanat currently serves as the Director of Economic and Workforce Development for the City of Oakland, a position held since April 2024. Prior to this role, Ashleigh Kanat spent over 16 years as Executive Vice President at Economic & Planning Systems, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in real estate and urban land use economics. Additional experience includes serving as Assistant Vice President at the New York City Economic Development Corporation and as Senior Associate at Rosen Consulting Group. Ashleigh Kanat began the career as an Assistant Planner for the City of Piedmont. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and an A.B. in American Studies from Smith College.
