Alex Carlton

Senior Research Scientist at Ecovative Design

Alex is a Senior Research Scientist and has worked at Ecovative since 2010. Alex has been a key contributor to multiple Ecovative new innovations including its original launch of Mushroom® Packaging, novel resin systems for the Engineered Wood industry, GIY (Grow it yourself) kits for Ecovative’s Grow.bio educational subsidiary. Alex developed the first Atlast Bacon (Version 0.1!) In December 2018 and continues to make key contributions on science, process and product. He holds a number of patents related to mycelium. In his free time, Alex is an avid gardener, and has a personal passion for fine cooking. Alex majored in Chemistry at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and enjoys long walks on the beach with his three-legged dog, Rocky.
