Heather joined Ecovative as a Senior Research Scientist on the Genetics team in the fall of 2019. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Bridgewater College in Virginia and a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology from The Ohio State University where she studied cell cycle regulation in Aspergillus nidulans. Heather is excited to bring her academic and industrial expertise in strain development and generation of tools for genetic manipulation of filamentous fungi to the team. In her spare time, Heather is involved in the conservation of wildlife, especially raptors and black-footed ferrets.
