Senior Policy Analyst at NYC Economic Development Corporation

Julian Martin has a diverse work experience history. Julian started their career as an intern at Human Rights First in 2016, where they worked in refugee representation. In 2018, they interned at the European Parliament, specifically within the Transatlantic Affairs department, where they focused on researching EU and U.S. policies related to migration, trade, international development, and data regulation as part of the Strategic Dialogue Initiative.

In 2019, Julian joined the Centre for Public Impact, initially as a summer associate, and later as an associate, contributing to various projects. Julian then joined IDinsight in 2021 as an associate, advising government ministries and philanthropic partners in Senegal and Morocco on anti-poverty initiatives. Julian eventually became a Senior Associate before leaving IDinsight in 2023.

Currently, Julian holds the position of Senior Policy Analyst at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, starting in February 2023.

Julian Martin completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Affairs from Yale University, where they attended from 2016 to 2020. In addition to their degree, they have obtained three certifications from the U.S. Department of State. In 2017, they received the Critical Language Scholarship in Oman. In 2016, they obtained the National Security Language Initiative for Youth in Morocco, and in 2013, they obtained the same certification in Jordan.
