Colin Burgess

Colin Burgess is currently the Lead Lecturer in engineering at Edinburgh College, specializing in engineering management, quality, compliance, and maintenance, including health and safety training for IOSH courses. With previous experience as Engineering Excellence Manager at Mowi Scotland, Colin contributed to staff upskilling through workplace SVQ Level 3 and the establishment of a high-quality apprenticeship program. As an engineering lecturer and curriculum expert at Fife College for over a decade, Colin was recognized for managing engineering apprenticeship training and further education curricula. Additional teaching experience includes work at Jewel and Esk Valley College, where Colin implemented innovative projects for apprentices and learning support students, and a 23-year tenure as a Marine Engineer in the Royal Navy, recognized for organizational skills and community engagement. Colin holds multiple degrees, including a BA in Business Management from Edinburgh Napier University and a PGD in Teaching Qualification from the University of Aberdeen.
