David Straight

Principal UX Designer at Edmentum

David Straight has extensive work experience in the field of UX design. David is currently employed as the Principal UX Designer at Edmentum since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the UX/UI Design Manager at Apex Learning from January 2020 to February 2022.

Before joining Apex Learning, David served as a Sr. UX Designer at Microsoft from April 2019 to January 2020, where they were responsible for leading the design and update of components in the design system for Microsoft websites.

From June 2018 to April 2019, David worked at Sinclair Digital as a Sr. UX Designer. During their time there, they led a cross-functional product team in improving the user experience of their internal Storyline CMS tool.

David also gained valuable experience at McGraw-Hill Education as a User Experience Designer from March 2014 to June 2018. David played a key role in creating an intuitive digital learning platform for the K-12 market and was a founding member of the New Technologies - School UX team.

Prior to that, David worked as a Web Designer at Duet Health from October 2011 to March 2014. David played a crucial role in producing web applications and was eventually acquired by MedData.

Furthermore, they worked as a Designer on Contract at ACUHO-I from March 2012 to August 2012. David designed effective materials for the professional association and led the creative direction for their annual conference and exhibition.

David's earlier experiences include working as a Student Graphic Designer at The Ohio State University, a Marketing Communication and Design Intern at Quest Fore, and a Marketing Communications Assistant at Benefits Network Inc. Overall, their work experience showcases their expertise in UX design, project leadership, and improving user experiences.

David Straight attended The Ohio State University from 2006 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Communication Design. In 2010, they also had a brief stint at Hochschule RheinMain in the field of Kommunikationsdesign. Additionally, David obtained several certifications, including Lynda.com Javascript Essential Training and NNG User Experience Certification in 2016, Lynda.com CSS Essential Training in 2015, and Introduction to Human-Centered Design from +Acumen.
