Alexandre Bastos Penteado

Alexandre Bastos Penteado currently serves as an IB International Program teacher for Individuals & Societies at the Canadian International School of Hefei since July 2024. In parallel, Alexandre has been a teacher in the Social Studies, Language Arts, and Spanish Academy Program at Edmonton Catholic Schools since June 2014, focusing on grades 7-9. Previous roles include Honorary Consul of Brazil in Edmonton for the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from May 2023 to July 2024 and Honorary Vice Consul of Brazil in Edmonton under the Consulate General of Brazil in Vancouver from May 2021 to May 2023. Alexandre has also taught Portuguese as a Second Language at the University of Alberta and served as a translator and language instructor in various private institutions. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Education in Social Studies Teacher Education from the University of Alberta, a Post-Degree Certificate in Language Interpretation and Translation from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná, and a Bachelor of Laws from the same institution.
