Xavier Buster

Director, Expanded Learning at EDUCATION FOR CHANGE

Xavier Buster has had a diverse range of work experiences. Xavier started their career in 2012 as a Classroom Teacher at the Oakland Unified School District. In the same year, they also worked as a 2012 Corp at Teach for America. Xavier then moved on to become a Program Coordinator at Girls Inc. of Alameda County from 2016 to 2018. From 2018 to 2021, Xavier worked as the Director of Alumni & Community Engagement at Teach For America. Currently, they are the Director of Expanded Learning at Education for Change Public Schools.

Xavier Buster completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Prairie View A&M University, with studies taking place from 2008 to 2012. Following this, they pursued an Education Certificate in Urban Education at Loyola Marymount University from 2012 to 2013. Later, from 2015 to 2016, Xavier pursued a Master of Arts in Urban Education with a focus on Urban Education and Leadership, also at Loyola Marymount University.
