Lesli A. Maxwell

Lesli Maxwell is the managing editor of Education Week. She writes The Savvy Principal newsletter. Previously, she oversaw the coverage of school leadership and management and reported on leadership and English-language learners. Prior to EdWeek, she was a political and higher education reporter for The Sacramento Bee and The Fresno Bee in California. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Missouri and a masters in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley. She was born and raised in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
