Karen Barton

Karen Barton serves as the Vice President of Assessment Operations at ETS, overseeing a team of 600 that delivers over 50 million assessments globally each year. Previously, Karen held prominent roles at NWEA, including EVP of Design & Development and Vice President of Assessment Solutions, where responsibilities included managing solution strategies, software development, and assessment design. Other experience includes senior leadership positions at Edmentum and Discovery Communications, focusing on research, learning analytics, and psychometrics. Karen's career began as an educator in special education and evolved through roles in educational evaluation and research. Karen holds a Ph.D. in Educational Research & Measurement from the University of South Carolina and advanced degrees in Psychology and Special Education from Longwood University.
