James Hughes is an experienced educator currently serving as the Head of Religious Education and Sociology at Swanmore College since September 2022, leading a department of seven teachers. In addition to this role, James has been a GCSE Sociology Team Leader Examiner and an Examiner for Eduqas since June 2022. Previously, from September 2017 to August 2022, James worked as a Humanities Teacher at Horndean Technology College, specializing in Religious Studies and Sociology while also holding TLR3 responsibilities as Enriched Learning Coordinator and Year 11 Standards Leader. Earlier in James's career, roles included a Teaching Assistant at Stockley Academy and student union leadership positions at University of Birmingham and Brunel University, enhancing student engagement and satisfaction. James holds a PGCE in Secondary History from the University of Southampton and a BA (Hons) in Political Science from the University of Birmingham.
