Lamell McMorris

Principal, Head of Policy, Regulatory and Government Relations at Edward Jones

Dr. Lamell McMorris has a diverse range of work experience. Dr. Lamell is currently serving as the Principal and Head of Policy, Regulatory and Government Relations at Edward Jones since November 2021. Prior to this role, they were the Founding Principal and CEO of Greenlining Realty USA, a comprehensive urban property redevelopment firm. In this position, they worked with local municipalities throughout the country to create mixed-use developments and reverse the historic effects of redlining in low-income communities.

Dr. McMorris also worked as a Teaching Fellow at Northeastern University's College of Professional Studies from October 2021 to June 2022. Additionally, they were the Founder and CEO of Phase 2 Consulting, a strategic advisory firm that specialized in government and community affairs, consulting, political campaigns, grassroots advocacy, and broad-based coalition building. Dr. Lamell held this role from April 2002 to November 2021 and developed deep relationships with influential leaders across various sectors.

In the sports industry, Dr. McMorris founded and served as the CEO of Perennial Sports and Entertainment & Perennial Law Group. As a sports agent, they represented NFL and NBA players and negotiated multi-million-dollar contracts. Dr. Lamell also played a key role in shaping collective bargaining agreements between professional sports officials and their respective leagues.

Dr. Lamell McMorris completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Society from Morehouse College in an unspecified year prior to 1995. Dr. Lamell then pursued a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Social Ethics & Public Policy at Princeton Theological Seminary, which they completed between 1995 and 1998. Most recently, Dr. McMorris began their Doctorate degree in DL.P. Law and Policy at Northeastern University in 2020, with an expected completion date in 2022.
