Bruce Thurmond

Bruce Thurmond is a seasoned professional in the fields of polymers, coatings, and biomaterials, currently serving as Sr Director at Edwards Lifesciences since July 2023. Prior experience includes a decade at BD as Director of Infection Prevention R&D, where responsibilities encompassed product improvement and innovation, budget management, and cross-functional project support. Bruce also held the position of Director of R&D Formulations at Angiotech, leading the development of drug-coated catheters and spearheading cross-disciplinary teams. Earlier roles include Senior Scientist at both Access Pharmaceuticals and Monsanto, focusing on advanced polymer therapeutics and biomaterial development. Bruce holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.S. in Chemistry from Murray State University.
