Abdiaziz Ahmed is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in economics and statistics. Currently serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Nairobi since August 2023, Abdiaziz teaches courses in Economic Statistics, Mathematics for Economists, Environmental Economics, and various Economics levels. As a Research Fellow at Research ICT Africa since February 2023, Abdiaziz focuses on digital inequalities and the implications of digital technologies for development in Africa. Previously, Abdiaziz founded and serves as the Director at Akinar Consulting while holding roles as a Junior Research Fellow at EfD_Kenya and a Peer Mentor for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. Abdiaziz has also contributed as a Research Assistant at SALDRU, a Research Associate at Global Insight, and a Consultant for Phaphama SEDI. Abdiaziz's educational background includes a PhD in Economics from the University of Cape Town and two degrees from the University of Nairobi—a Master's in Economics and a Bachelor in Economics and Statistics.
