Based in Munich, Elke Hofmann heads Egon Zehnder’s Munich office and leads the CEO & Board Advisory Practice in Germany. She counsels large and midsize corporations in industrial goods, process industries, and energy and is a trusted advisor for general management, transformation and change. Elke is also a core member of Egon Zehnder’s Industrial Practice. As a member of Egon Zehnder’s CEO and Executive Assessment and Development practices, she provides senior-level executive search, board search, management appraisals, team effectiveness reviews, and accelerated integration support to leaders transitioning into new roles.

Elke gained wide-ranging management experience before becoming an Egon Zehnder consultant, spending 13 years at BP Plc in London in a variety of general management roles that included serving as a Commercial Director for Asia, Brazil, and Europe at Butamax Advanced Biofuels LLC and as Business Manager, Europe, for BP Biofuels, as well as restructuring and transforming BP’s downstream business in Europe. Prior to that she was a Senior Consultant with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Munich. She started her career at Deutsche Bank, where she worked in retail and commercial banking.

Elke earned a master’s degree and a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany (with a semester abroad at the University of New South Wales in Australia), before completing the Sales & Marketing Leadership Program at the Kellogg Business School and the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.
